Construction:
Worked for my father during and after graduation for years on and off as a carpenter building from the ground up.
Lead carpenter for J. Stewart Hilliard in Beverly Hills, CA remodel and additions.
Superintendent for Equadine Construction Co. Santa Monica, CA.
Licensed Contractor building 5-6000 sq. ft. homes, room additions and remodels in CA.
Patio and deck business for 5 years mostly for high-end homes.
Became licensed in Washington state and continued remodel work in the city of Bremerton.
Project manager for the complete remodel of 151 homes at Sub Base Bangor, WA for a company out of Texas.
This is just a small portion of work history in this field which included: Finish Carpentry, Tile, Laminate and Wood Floors, Window and Door Retrofit, Kitchen and Bath Installations, ect.
Sales:
Manufacturers Rep. for 5 different clothing manufactures of Ladies clothing and furs. My territory covered the South. I handled all boutiques, mom, pop, and fashion shows like the Dallas Apparel Mart.
Sales and product development for Hawk International. They came up with the first Non-Toxic Fire Extinguisher and a canister for that product that they held a patent on that propelled the liquids using injected air.
My job was to come up with different products that could be used in this same air propelled canister.
I developed different products and designed art and labeling for this new canister. Example, I contacted a company that manufactured different scents, came up with tanning spray, and after-sun spritzer with any kind of scent all based on fruit scents. This canister was a small can that can could fit in a purse or glove compartment. This glove compartment size can was also good for the Fire Extinguisher for cars and boats. Also a foaming agent for cleaning computer keyboards.
Obtained Washington State insurance license, in addition was an agent for NASE, and became top 30 in the in the US the first week out.
Reason for leaving was that I felt I was selling a product that was not exactly what they promised and they fell into the category of a mass merchandising company with a cold call list of at least 100 calls every Monday. They had already hounded most of the people I contacted for years. It was a bit much! I cannot sell something that I do not believe in once the cat was out of the bag.
